Notifications
The Notification Center is a central place to receive information from the i-net CoWork. It can be accessed from the notification bell in the navigation bar.
The bell in the navigation bar is being displayed depending on the state of newly received notifications or existing ones:
-
Gray bell: there are no notifications
-
Black or White bell: notifications are available
-
Blue indicator: represents the number of unread notifications
-
Red indicator: there is at least one critical notification
Notifications consist of: title, message body and an optional destination. They can be critical and permanent (non-removable). Notifications are sorted in the order in which they occurred, starting with the most recent. Permanent notifications are always displayed first.
Notifications of the same kind will be grouped together (see Settings below) to allow an easier overview in case of too many single entries. The group can be dissolved into individual notifications using the XX further messages
button at the end of a notification group. Individual message texts, e.g. when receiving many notifications from the Task Planner, will then be shown.
The first time a notification appears users will be asked if they want to receive them using their browsers notification system as well (see below). Notifications are considered "read" as soon as the Notification Center has been opened.
Individual notifications can be removed using the Clear
icon on the respective entries. The Clear all
icon on top of the notification center can be used to remove all notification entries at once if they are not marked permanent.
Note: Notifications can automatically be removed, e.g. when an error on the server has been resolved.
Note: Notifications removed automatically or by the user cannot be restored.
Settings
Receiving notifications can be customised to some extend. Newly received notifications of the same kind can be displayed as a group using the Group new notifications checkbox.
Users can specify how they want to receive notifications - or even that they do not want them at all.
-
Web: Notifications are being displayed using the Bell-Icon, in the Notification Center and can be received using Browser Notifications
-
Email: Notifications will be send as Emails. Users have to have an email address in their user settings and an outgoing email server has to be set in the configuration.
Browser Notifications
Browser notifications will only be send to supported browsers through an HTTPS secured connection. The first time a notification is received through the Web-Setting (see above) the user can decide to receive browser notifications.
If users block the notification for their browser they will not be asked again. If they decide differently later on they have to re-enable/allow notifications in the browser or client system settings. E.g. in Chrome, Brave and MS Edge the settings can be checked by clicking the frontmost icon element which usually contains the security information and - in the aforementioned browsers - the notification settings, too.
Note: Browser Notifications can usually be received too, even though the browser / PWA app is closed. This behaviour depends on the operating system and browser used. When the user logs out of i-net CoWork, notifications will not be received any more.
