Asset Types
An asset type is, to put it simply, a collection of asset fields summarized with a name and an icon. Asset types are used in the inventory to create individual asset.
The overview of all asset types is an alphabetically ordered list of available types. New types are added using the button at the bottom of the list. You can edit, duplicate and remove asset types using the options button on each entry.
An asset type consists of:
-
Name: The name of the asset type.
-
Icon: An optional icon for the asset type.
-
Activated fields for assets of this type: A list of asset fields that are available in this type. You can select the all fields entry to have all asset fields available in this type.
Note: The availability of an asset field for a specific type can be changed here as well as with the asset fields.
Note: There is another entry Library With Icons with a link. You can click the link to download a small library of additional icons that you can use for other asset types.
Pictogram / Icon
Custom image files can be created and uploaded for the pictogram representation. In order to be able to upload the picture in different resolutions there is an area for processing them. There five pictures with a resolution of 16x16, 24x24, 32x32, 48x48 and 64x64 pixels each can be set.
The interface will indicate if the resolution of the set images is too low.
Note: The file formats png

, gif
and bmp
are supported. It is recommended to use images in png
format.
