CoWork GIFs are powered by Tenor and require an API key set up in the Configuration application –> Communication –> CoWork GIF. The API key can be obtained from the Google Cloud Console for free. This page is a walk through for obtaining a new API key based up on the GCC in 2025.

The following prerequisites must be fulfilled so that the i-net HelpDesk server can provide GIFs from Tenor:

• The i-net HelpDesk server must be able to reach https://tenor.googleapis.com/v2/
• You have to be authorized to create an API key at https://console.cloud.google.com/

You are about to create a GCP API Key now. These are the steps to take, to ensure that the key is created and can be used with the Tenor API / GIF plugin

• Go to https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/dashboard and log in

• Check, that the Tenor API service is enabled using Enable APIs and services. Search for the Tenor API and activate it.

• Go to the Credentials page and click Create credentials. Select API Key from the dropdown.

• After the key has been generated, edit the key to provide a custom and optionally restrict the API key to the Tenor API only.

• You can copy the API key again at any time from the GCP. Enter the API key in the configuration now.
