Release Information

Version 26.4 introduces the all-new Dashboard application, giving you a powerful, fully customizable workspace to monitor what matters most. Arrange widgets freely on a flexible grid, visualize data as gauges, charts, tables, or traffic lights, and share your dashboards with your team. Everything updates in real time, so the information you see is always current. i-net HelpDesk brings a comprehensive set of ticket widgets to the Dashboard: track ticket counts and trends, analyze open vs. closed tickets over time, break down tickets by any field with grouped statistics and heat maps, view upcoming deadlines in a calendar, monitor remaining effort, and measure service quality through customer satisfaction ratings and response time analysis.

Migration Information

  • Push is the new default setting for email retrieval. If there are problems with the mail server, you should switch back to the old interval check.

Web Server

  • If you have a Let's Encrypt update task, you should set the timer trigger to a significantly shorter interval, e.g., daily instead of the previous 30 days. The Let's Encrypt runtime will soon be reduced to 45 days. For this reason, the remaining runtime of the certificate is now checked before a renewal is performed.

Plugin Changes

  • New userdefined function "getFieldValue", which can be used in reports to get a value of any ticket field, including custom field. This proves handy when extending existing reports with new custom fields.
  • New column in ticket list displaying with an icon whether a ticket is read or unread.
  • The documentation now includes the default reports that are added to the Drive during i-net HelpDesk setup.
  • Ticket view and list reflect changes of ticket owner data in real time.
  • New configuration option to create a new ticket instead of rejecting emails referring a ticket in their subject line when the reactivation time has expired the ticket. When enabled, the ticket ID is ignored and a new ticket is created, rather than sending an error message to the sender. This option can be configured in the Configuration under Ticket -> Settings -> Processing -> Defaults.
  • Can set individual icons for each category and each location.
  • No longer show "Anlage manuell hinzufügen" as allowed action as it has no effect.
  • Added new search tags for Tickets: Tags:"Authorized" and Tags:"Not authorized".
  • The visibility of ticket fields can be configured more precisely: Fields can be visible, deactivated or only usable for the system. Additionally a field may be write-protected.
  • New email retrieval methods, push and permanent connection, have been added. Push is the default.
  • New report listing a user's permissions, allowed actions, and group memberships.
  • Action "Benutzer Kommentar" uses the new status "Benutzer kommentiert" as follow up status.
  • Email accounts can be deactivated individually in the mailbox settings. Deactivated accounts are not checked for new emails but can still be tested.
  • Depending on their context, JavaScript Triggers can now use and set any ticket or user fields, including custom created fields.
  • Changes of ticket fields and attachments can always be performed by system tasks of task planner, regardless of the configuration setting.
  • Max length of field "Email" in resources was changed from 250 to 500.
  • Configuration setting "Contents can be edited after closing a ticket" no longer affects deleted tickets. Deleted tickets cannot be changed manually, only by the system or by Task Planner system tasks.

Fixed Bugs

  • In the configuration, the option "Use SQL query to load selectable values" is no longer available for predefined selection fields when setting up ticket fields.
  • If a ticket text field's name contained an umlaut, it was not correctly replaced if it was used as a placeholder in an autotext.
  • When supplying a ticket field while applying an action, it now also checks if the current user is allowed to change that field according to the allowed actions.
  • When adding a location, the list no longer shows a red X icon before the changes are applied, and custom icons are now visible immediately.
  • In the location configuration, unsaved new locations can no longer be deactivated; they must be saved first. Previously, deactivating a newly created unsaved location caused it to disappear entirely.

Attachments

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed an issue where attachments with spaces in their names were shown as unreferenced during maintenance cleanup.

Forms

  • Public forms can contain a ticketowner field if it is read only or hidden.
  • In forms that modify a ticket, additional ticket properties can be displayed as read-only fields.
  • The label of the submit button can be customized in each form.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fields of tickets can be reset back to 'no value' when submitting a form.
  • Hiding the label of a field now works also for read only fields.
  • Correctly display the default value of formatted text fields.
  • Improved validation of values when filling out forms.

Inventory

Fixed Bugs

  • The permission check for configuring asset data did not work correctly. You now need either the "Server Administration" permission or both "Edit Assets" and "Access to Assets of All Users".

Knowledge Base

  • Improved the Task Planner action to create knowledge base entries by allowing category to be set via a dynamic placeholder.
  • Added a Task Planner action for creating knowledge base entries using AI for creating the problem and solution description.
  • Improved handling of empty categories and sub-categories for the Task Planner action for creating knowledge base entries with AI.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed Task Planner knowledge-base creation actions to treat empty category values as missing and fail with a consistent category validation error instead of at runtime.
  • When canceling without making changes, knowledge base articles will no longer prompt about unsaved changes.

Live Support

  • Live Support can use an AI assistant to answer visitor messages first. The assistant now supports selectable information sources for context and can be configured (provider, resource, selected information sources, context size, and extra instructions) in the Live Support settings.
  • Visitors can request to speak to a human supporter at any time during an AI conversation; the assistant can also trigger handover when it cannot fully resolve the issue.

Maintenance for i-net HelpDesk

  • The backup "Image directory" now also includes the company logo (Configuration/Company info) in case one was uploaded. External images (http or file path) will not be included.

Processes

  • New condition type added: "Ticket has value". This condition is met when a defined value is set in the main or parallel ticket.

Quick Tickets

Fixed Bugs

  • Task planner Quick Ticket creation now correctly converts relative custom date/date-time fields into absolute timestamps.

Setup Wizard for i-net HelpDesk

  • Added support for the latest versions of MySQL and MariaDB.

  • Added per-feature activation toggles and a "Default" provider option for ticket list AI features (suggest, summarize, rewrite, knowledge base entry creation).
  • In an open ticket, changes to associated users, linked tickets, fields, and field values are updated live.
  • The creation of new emails via the timeline has been consolidated into a single menu item.

Fixed Bugs

  • Fixed an error that could occur when using AI features when the knowledge base plugin was deactivated.
  • Editing a view with an existing icon removed the image.

Tickets and Assets

  • New task planner action "Set Read Status" which lets you set a ticket's read/unread status via task planner.
  • Improved performance of "Tickets with Status" series by not loading all tickets upfront, significantly reducing memory usage for large ticket sets.
  • Added an option to run the "Tickets with Status" series over all tickets, without a status filter.
  • Added a 1-month option to task planner date filters (calendar-based month calculation).
  • Added a "<none>" option to the Ticket Owner chooser in ticket filters, allowing users to filter for tickets without an owner.
  • The Task Planner action "Apply Ticket Action" now supports the Sign action, including signature input and validation.
  • Action "Add Autotext", job "Add Attachment" and "Set Resource" now work for closed and deleted tickets, if the configuration settings allow it.

Fixed Bugs

  • Newly created ticket fields and user fields were not immediately visible in the task planner field selection dropdown until the server was restarted.
  • Ticket owner filters with an empty value now match tickets without an owner.
  • Email sending ticket actions now correctly include job result attachments if the attachment checkbox is active.

Ad Hoc

  • Integration in Drive to export and/or edit .adhoc files.
  • Added an activation toggle and a "Default" provider option for Ad Hoc AI.
  • Component settings can be copied and inserted into the report as a new component. Inserting as a different component type is possible, but may not transfer all settings.
  • The export for the Designer (*.rpt file) can optionally embed the necessary data from the data source for support purposes.

AI

  • Added a "Max Context Length (tokens)" property to AI providers which will intelligently attempt to shorten AI requests in case they would exceed a token limit.
  • Added activation toggles and a "Default" provider option for AI translations, with automatic migration of the legacy "use default provider" settings.
  • Removed all MCP client integration from the AI plugin, including MCP configuration, validation and MCP-specific documentation.
  • Added a GPT provider setting "Reasoning Level" to explicitly control reasoning_effort; automatic model-based defaults are no longer sent.

Fixed Bugs

  • Disabling the CoWork AI bot now fully disables all AI bot responses, including when replying to an existing AI message.
  • The link to the AI provider configuration dialog was incorrect in a couple of Task Planner components.
  • Fixed icons for the AI Trigger and Job in the Task Planner.

Configuration

Fixed Bugs

  • The parent category list when editing or creating a category was not being sorted correctly.

Fixed Bugs

  • When viewing by title, the list is now sorted correctly if no title is available.
