User Data
The configuration of a user data import is a process that is supported by a wizard and is therefore very intuitive. Some options and their effects are explained below.
Options for synchronizing the user data
-
Import all users, nonexistent users are created in i-net HelpDesk: Required if new users are to be imported.
-
Missing users in the connection will lead to the deactivation of these accounts in i-net HelpDesk: Useful if accounts deleted or deactivated in the data source are also to be deactivated in i-net HelpDesk. Deactivated users are not taken into account when licensing by "Number of total users" in i-net HelpDesk.
-
Important: Tickets from deactivated users are kept and are still assigned to these accounts. Create new tickets for deactivated users is not available.
-
Note: Only users created via this import in i-net HelpDesk are deactivated. All other users, no matter if they have been created manually or by another import, remain unchanged.
-
-
Users with supporter rights may also be deactivated: This option should only be activated if it is absolutely certain that all accounts including supporter accounts that are no longer found in the connection should be deactivated in i-net HelpDesk.
-
Deactivated users in i-net HelpDesk can be reactivated from the connection, if they are not blocked: The option allows users to be reactivated in i-net HelpDesk. This allows a 1:1 synchronization of the data source with the user data in the i-net HelpDesk, if all previously mentioned options are also active.
-
Note: An important exception for reactivation is the Set/Edit/Remove Blocking Notice. If a Blocking Notice has been set for a user in i-net HelpDesk, the reactivation option does not work because a locked account may not be changed until after a manual check due to GDPR reasons.

-
Restrict to users contained in the address list: The user attribute
msExchHideFromAddressLists
was detected in the Microsoft Active Directory. This is intended to prevent certain user accounts from being displayed in the address books. By deactivating the option, these entries can also be imported from the AD.
Customization of the user data
A customization of the user data can be done, after the import, either in the User and groups application or in the User accounts page of the maintenance application. Especially when importing a larger user database, e.g. from LDAP, changing user fields, such as the default location, can be done comfortably using the maintenance application.
Example: You have imported via LDAP import several hundred users as well as their departments. After the LDAP import, all users have "Antonplatz" as default location. Now filter in the maintenance application → User accounts by the department, e.g. "Personnel". Assign the new location, e.g. "Zeppelinstrasse" to the users found. In the same way, you can filter for all users with the location "Zeppelinstrasse" and assign the users found to the User Class "Personnel".
