Layout settings

The layout settings allow individualization of the central ticket list. The dialog is opened using the option button above the ticket list and consists of two areas:

  1. the preview view
  2. the list of settings

Both areas interact with each other, so that a field in the preview can be highlighted with the mouse pointer and a click jumps to the corresponding field in the list of settings.

The ticket list supports three predefined, completely different layouts: Default, Cards and Expert - Layout. Due to the high adaptability of these layouts, each user can create their own individual working environment for the ticket list.

Options

The following options apply to all layouts:

Groupings in the ticket list

Depending on the sorting, the tickets can be grouped. This achieves an additional level in the structured display of the ticket list.

Display the preview

The preview of a ticket appears as soon as it is marked in the ticket list. The preview can take the following positions:

  • Next to the ticket list: the preview appears to the right side of the list.
  • Below the ticket list : the preview appears below the list.
  • Instead of the ticket list : the list is hidden and only the preview is displayed.
  • Do not show : there is no preview and a ticket must be opened with a double-click.

Default Layout

The Standard Layout offers a compact view of the ticket, consisting of the ticket number, subject, preview text, status and priority. These fields are an integral part of the layout and only the priority and status can be hidden. In addition, up to six additional fields can be shown.

Note: Depending on the field type, the icons can be shown additionally to or instead of the content.

Cards Layout

The Cards Layout focuses on the preview text of a ticket. The preview test is display with multiple lines. The fields priority*, status*, subject, ticket number, last changed* and changed by* are an integral part of a card. In addition, up to six additional fields can be shown.

* The field can optionally be hidden.

Note: Depending on the field type, the icons can be shown additionally to or instead of the content.

Expert layout

The Expert Layout enables the user to display all ticket and user fields. There is only the separation between primary and additional fields in the ticket list. The difference is that the primary fields are always displayed first and remain in place when the view is scrolled horizontally (the browser needs to supports this feature).

Note: It is advisable to choose content for the primary columns that does not vary in its width, for example icons. A text field makes sense as the last part of the column.

Note: Although the Expert Layout can theoretically display all fields at once, it is recommended to limit it to the fields that are actually necessary. Depending on the client, a large amount of data can negatively affect performance.

Note: Horizontal scrolling will be required if the list of tickets is wider than the browser window.

Note: Depending on the field type, the icons can be shown additionally to or instead of the content.
