Inventory

The Inventory extension allows managing assets that are affected by this ticket. The extension is visible by default, but can be removed by users, if not required. Using the Inventory extension, supporters have quick access to assign and manage affected assets, including direct links into the Inventory application.

With the inventory extension, all users of the ticket application have quick access to assign and manage affected assets, including direct links into the Inventory application. Permissions to access the inventory can be assigned individually for supporters and end users.

Depending on the user permission and the ticket owner, users have several views available. A double-click on the asset opens a dialog that shows all asset details. Users with the appropriate permission can edit the asset here as well. Additionally, there is an options menu on the panel to show the details, show the asset in the Inventory application, and add or remove the asset from the ticket.

With the menu entry Copy into the 'Identifier' field you have the option to copy a property of the asset to the ticket's identifier field. The user must have the ticket action permission to change the identifier field, or the menu entry will not be displayed.

Views

  • Affected Assets: A list of assets that are assigned to the ticket. Each asset is represented by a panel that includes up to six detail fields about the asset.
  • Assets of Ticket Owner: A list of assets that belong to the current ticket owner and are not archived.
  • Assets of User Class: A list of assets that belong to the current ticket owner's User Class and are marked active.
  • Assets of Location: A list of assets that belong to the current ticket owner's location and are marked active.
  • My Assets: A list of active assets that belong to the current user.
  • All Assets: A list of every active asset that the current user has access to.

All asset lists, except the Affected Assets have the asset tree of the Inventory application available. That includes searching and grouping the assets, just like the application. Each asset entry has a button to either add the asset to the ticket or remove it from the ticket.
