Jobs

Lists waiting, currently running and recently finished jobs (tasks) of the server. A job is some larger bunch of work to be fulfilled by the server. They are often caused by users using the server. Jobs are executed one after the other, but some jobs can be executed concurrently depending on the power of your server.

The table shows information about each job. Detail-columns can be shown or hidden with Select columns.

Detail columns

  • State: The current state of the job.
  • Order: The current execution order of waiting jobs. There is only a value for waiting jobs.
  • User: The user who submitted the job. Does not have to be a physical user.
  • Progress: Approximate progress of the job.
  • Added: Point in time when the job was submitted (not when it was started).
  • Uptime: How long the job was or is running.
  • In memory: Amount of data the job has in memory (RAM) which can be swapped to harddisk. Most likely the job is using significantly more memory. For completed jobs this is the memory the job used at the end.
  • Swapped: Amount of data the job has already swapped to harddisk. For completed jobs this is the amount of data the job had swapped at the end.
  • Object handles: This stands for the effort the job causes. Larger value means more effort. It is unspecified what this value exactly is. Because of that the values for different types of jobs often cannot be compared with each other.
  • Client address: If the job was submitted by a remote client then it shows the IP address here.
  • Stacktrace: Clicking on the button shows the stacktrace of all threads belonging to the job.

Clicking on the terminate button cancels the job.
